I won't lie -- school has been a struggle. Not necessarily because it's difficult, but because it's completely different as non-traditional students.
CJ's classes are going well. I'm just glad I'm not an English major -- definitely wouldn't have wanted to keep up with all that reading. He's taking an online course from this school in Maryland, which has been more work than he originally thought. But, ISU will only give him a pass/fail when it transfers in, so he'll technically only need a C in that course. (I'm arguing that since my money is helping to pay for this degree too, that I expect an A.) His other classes are fine. It's just been more of a hassle getting his work schedule rearranged and his professors to understand his work schedule.
I'm done with one course -- already! This won't happen every time, but I do get one week off between classes -- which means I have two weeks where I won't have any work to do. I already have next Thursday night planned out -- to Hobby Lobby to pick up supplies for the pets' Halloween costumes (even though we still don't have our costumes picked out), to DSW because I need new tall black boots and CJ needs new sandals, and to pick out CJ's birthday present (he claims he doesn't care, but I can still tell he's excited).
If you've been praying for us, please know we appreciate it. And, as soon as this is all over (or at least once CJ is out of school full-time and dog obedience classes have ended), we intend to see our family and friends again. Time just isn't on our side at the moment, and when we do have a free day or evening, we want to spend it not doing anything -- which is why I've spent my entire Saturday watching DVRed episodes of Ace of Cakes, Say Yes to the Dress, and Jon & Kate Plus 8...
