labor day weekend, part two

It's been a good Labor Day weekend -- just trying to figure out how we can somehow get a Labor Week enacted.

Saturday was pretty uneventful. I had plans with two separate friends, but other things came up, and it just didn't happen. But I did get some laundry done, my floors somewhat cleaned, and flowers pruned outside. And, most importantly, I got caught up on some of my DVRed shows.

We nixed going to the Home Show this weekend, and instead went to Ikea in Cincinnati on Sunday afternoon. We really just like looking in the store and really only intended to buy a wok and whatever else -- little things, mind you -- might come our way. We ended up with the wok, but also with a new chair, footstool, and light for our living room. We always seem to need additional seating in our living room, and the light actually doubles as a seat (uncomfortable, but a seat nonetheless). So in a few months, we've gone from having seats for four people to potentially nine. Guess we better start hosting more parties.

My vacuum, although only 5 1/2 years old, about gave up on me Saturday, so I decided it was finally time to buy a new one, so we did that this morning. We also went to see Inglorious Basterds, which, despite being a Quentin Tarantino film and being somewhat bloody in parts, wasn't too bad, keeping in mind the main storyline was false...

So now I'm taking a break from cleaning up the guest bedroom and purging our house, which we've needed to do since before we got married. I also have clothes in the dryer, and a husband who should return home soon (I sent him on a trip to the store to find organizing things for me), so I should log off and get to work...

Hope everyone had a great long weekend!
