We got married January 3rd. Pictures will be coming soon. Everything went well, and I'm glad it's over. As it turns out, event planning for a job suits me well enough, and I don't need the additional stress of planning a wedding. I like being married, but wedding planning should be left to other people.
For our honeymoon, we spent a few days down in West Baden Springs. It was a very nice resort, which we'd recommend, but only if you're willing to splurge. Nothing is cheap there, but it was a nice place to get away and to be pampered for a little while.

Our first night there, we went to eat a Sinclair's, a restaurant at the hotel. We were told by the front desk staff that it was "resort casual," so the clothes we had on (jeans) were acceptable. We walked into this super nice restaurant feeling very undressed, but since we were the only two people eating there, they weren't exactly going to turn us down either. We did get a complimentary dessert because we told them we were on our honeymoon, which I guess made up for the small fortune we spent on dinner there.

We did go over to the French Lick Casino one day. Neither one of us are gamblers, but we wanted to see what it was all about anyway. I think both of us were just amazed at how addictive even slot machines can be. People had cards literally attached to them for easy access, and it wasn't like they were really even paying attention to the slots. We ended up paying the 2 cent slots. We had no clue what we were doing, so we basically punched buttons. Our winnings: $1.26.
Another late morning we went to the French Lick Winery, where again we were the only people there. We had a heavy lunch of pasta, tasted some wine (well, I did), and that was about it for there.
And another day, I got a hot stone massage at the hotel. It was definitely an experience, and although I enjoyed it, I can't say I'd be willing to spend that much money on a massage again, when I have a husband who can do it for free.
Now we're just trying to settle into life again. I probably have six or seven loads of laundry to do, thank you notes to address, wedding gifts to put away, a house to organize, and who knows what else. I think CJ plans to spend the afternoon in the garage, making me a utensil holder and organizing all his tools and gadgets. Our small group starts tomorrow, I go back to work on Monday, and CJ starts his new job on Wednesday, so while it's not exactly the most fun way to end our honeymoon, it's probably best to get as much off of our plates now...
