I saw this cute idea on http://www.theletteredcottage.net/ (originally ripped off from Better Homes & Gardens, I think), and decided to mostly copy it.
I found a white pumpkin on sale at Michael's, plus I got the paint, a paint brush, and doilies (used to create the design at the top) all for a few dollars on top of that. And I found some time to make it on Sunday afternoon (all right, I was procrastinating writing one of my uber-boring papers). I cut the middle out of the doilie, glued it to the pumpkin, and painted over it. Et voila!
I bought the same style (maybe larger) of the stick pumpkin at Hobby Lobby (also half off) and the Count Your Blessings pumpkin from the Family Christian Bookstore (25% off, plus I had a 20% coupon on top of that).
CJ says it looks like something our mothers would put in their houses. I'll admit it's a little country for me, but oh well. :)
