I'm on a roll with reading this summer! I'm actually finishing books! It's about the only thing that keeps me sane sometimes.
Anyway.
While we were on vacation in May, I finished off The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows. It's set in post-WWII England and on the island of Guernsey. The main character, Juliet, is a journalist who randomly gets in touch with a Guernsey resident and instantly becomes intrigued with his story about this society and its members while the island was occupied by Nazi Germany.
I liked being transported to Guernsey. I liked the characters. I really enjoyed reading this ... but I left wanting more.
Has anyone else read it and had a differing opinion?
