I've been busy writing about the pets, recipes, and who knows what else, and no one probably knows what we're actually doing.
CJ's two jobs keep him busy enough. He didn't work at his part-time job this week because he took a technical firefighting class that was Monday through Wednesday evenings of this week. It was a required course he needed to take for the fire department, and this will open up the doors for him to take some other courses -- and more interesting ones at that.
And when he wasn't working or in class this week, CJ spent more time tackling the giant lumber pile. Long story short, CJ's dad was given the opportunity to put a bid in on this big lot of lumber (approximately an acre, stacked very high), which he did, and which he was awarded. On last Saturday, CJ stepped on a nail, which went all the way through his heavy work boots and through his foot (not the entire way). Somehow after he got his shoe off and put it back on, he ended up with a rock in hole, which he managed to dig out. So now his foot is better. He went down on Wednesday and managed to smash and slice open his thumb with a crow bar. He thought it was broken, and although it's still swollen, he doesn't think it is now. He went back down on Friday, and I'm happy to report that Friday was an accident-free day. His dad was able to get an extension on picking up all of the lumber, but I still don't know when they'll finish.
As for me, I've just been busy with work (now that the legislature is back in session and I'm able to do some policy work) and school. I'm getting by in my Advanced Managerial Accounting class. I didn't know there were two types of accounting -- financial and managerial -- and I'm liking managerial accounting much more than financial, because it's more based in algebra and it just makes more sense. This class will be done in mid-February and even though I like the professor and am getting good grades in the class, I can't wait for it to be over.
That's really it for us. Nothing exciting really. Just the same old stuff, just on different days. Hope everyone else is well.
