happy birthday, cj.

To keep everyone's interest piqued, I probably should update the blog every so often.

More house pictures for everyone, these of my almost completed kitchen. Painting really only makes it about 25% complete. When we have some money, the lights will be the next to go. We also plan to redo the flooring and before we sell in the next five to six years, we'll update the appliances so they all match.

On the wedding front, things are progressing slowly but surely. I'm almost ready to order invitations. I already bought my flowers and Leah's, and when I have some time next week, I plan to make a few mock-up programs with the cool paper and ribbon I bought at Hobby Lobby. (Which incidentally has become CJ's new favorite store, since Buffalo Wild Wings is in the same strip mall.)

No big news on the job front for CJ, but he has lined up a part-time medical job up here in Indianapolis, or at least in central Indiana, which is promising.

And finally, today is CJ's birthday and he spent the entire day working outside. He ripped out all of my shrubs, which makes the house look so much better. We haven't decided what to put in their place, so until next spring, the dirt will look just fine. Several weeks ago, he built a flower box to go around the mailbox (mostly because he hated mowing around it), so he put that in the ground and filled it with dirt. And then he filled in my backyard. At the very back of my property line, the ground slopes down so much that it fills up with water everytime it rains, so we're hopeful this will help. Tonight, we went out to eat at Stir Crazy (which we highly recommend) and bought him his wedding band and yeah...that was it. After working outside three days straight, he was pretty exhausted tonight.

God has really blessed me by placing CJ in my life. CJ is more than I ever prayed for or dreamt about, and I'm continually amazed that God knew me better than I knew myself, and that He gave me someone who sometimes knows me better than I know myself. God is so good.
